Everton will be looking to climb the Premier League table in 2017.
During an in-depth interview with the club’s official website, Everton defender Ramiro Funes Mori explained how he is happy to work, and continue to adapt to playing amongst a back-three, if Ronald Koeman chooses to persist with he formation which proved so fruitful against Leicester City on Boxing Day.
The Toffees have improved recently, despite last week’s disappointing last-minute loss to Liverpool in the Merseyside Derby, and now sit in seventh position in the Premier League table.
And Funes Mori, 25, has played a crucial role in their recent resurgence.

He sat down for an interview with EvertonFC.com, and discussed his side’s recent switch in formation, highlighting the need for him and his teammates to put in maximum effort during training to help ensure that they become accustomed to the tactical switch:
“When you practice this formation, if you do it really good then it is going to come out well. I like to play either way, a back-four or back-three, but we have to work on that. The win builds up a lot of confidence. We always have situations and opportunities to score goals. Starting from the goalkeeper and backline, it gives the team confidence. I think we all did a really good job defending.”

The Argentine moved to Goodison Park from River Plate in the summer of 2015, for a fee believed to be in the region of £9.5 million, and has gone on to make 51 appearances for Everton.
Next up for the Toffees is a trip to Hull City on Friday, and Koeman’s men will be looking for back-to-back wins for the first time since September.
