Saudi Pro League side Al-Shabab are reportedly close to signing Everton winger Demarai Gray as the Premier League side have struggled at the beginning of the new season.

According to Sky Sports News, the Saudi side have agreed a fee with the English side, although that fee has yet to be reported.

Everton will not, however, let Gray go until they sign a replacement first or the players who are currently injured like Dwight McNeill and Jack Harrison return to the club.

The Jamaican international has not featured in either of the Toffees’ opening two Premier League games, and Sean Dyche appears ready to let him move on to raise transfer funds.

The Birmingham-born winger has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park for much of the summer, with both Crystal Palace and Besiktas rumoured to be interested in signing him according to the Daily Mail.

Saudi side looking for Willian alternative

Al-Shabab, who were previously linked with Fulham winger Willian according to The Athletic, are seemingly looking for Premier League experience to add to their ranks.

Gray, who has had moments in the Premier League where he had been unplayable during his period at the Toffees, has ultimately struggled under Dyche so it seems likely that a move will be completed soon.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the fee has been agreed and personal terms are being worked on, Romano doesn’t mention if a replacement is needed before Everton sanctions the departure.

The Italian journalist claims that the final decision is down to the former Leicester City and Bayer Leverkusen winger but it does seem likely he will join the Saudi side.
