Everton will travel to Turf Moor tomorrow to take on Burnley in the Premier League.

Everton ace Gylfi Sigurdsson spoke exclusively to the club’s official website, and discussed the prospect of coming face to face with his countryman Johann Berg Gudmundsson, when his side take on Burnley at Turf Moor tomorrow.

The Toffees currently sit in ninth position in the Premier League table, two places and three points behind the Clarets, so tomorrow will have huge ramifications with regards to the race for seventh spot in the table.

Sigurdsson joined the Merseyside outfit from Swansea City in the summer of 2017, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £45 million, but he hasn’t yet made the impact that was expected of him, chipping in with just four goals and three assists in 25 Premier League appearances this season.

Gudmundsson, meanwhile, has played a pivotal role for Sean Dyche’s side this term, appearing in all but one of their 28 Premier League games thus far.

The Icelandic duo are set to go face to face at Turf Moor tomorrow, and Sigurdsson shared how he will speak to his compatriot after the game, as quoted by the club’s official website:

“I’ll speak to Johann after but before and during the game I won’t be saying too much! We’re playing for three points for our team and that’s the most important thing for both of us.”

Tomorrow’s game at Turf Moor will surely be a tight encounter, and whoever performs the best out of the Icelandic duo could be the key to which team emerges victorious from the contest.
