Everton host Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday.

During an interview with the club’s official website, Everton right-back Seamus Coleman explained how his side’s impressive home record is playing a part in their high confidence levels, as they head into Sunday’s huge Premier League clash against Manchester United at Goodison Park.

The Toffees are in the midst of a woeful run of form, after just one win in their last eight league outings that has seen them take just six points during that period.

But Coleman was in bullish mood, when speaking to evertonfc.com, citing his side’s home record as a good reason why they should head into the game against United in confident mood:

“It is going to be a tough game against Manchester United, but we have to go out and perform and do so for 90 minutes – not for 45. We can take confidence from the home record. The home form has been good. If we beat United on Sunday, we go above them in the league.”

Jose Mourinho’s men head to Merseyside on Sunday on the back of an equally poor run of results, although they did look more like the United of old in midweek, as they thrashed West Ham United in the quarter-final of the EFL Cup.

Sunday’s game is vitally important for both sides, and a win for Ronald Koeman’s will see them jump above United into sixth place, while a loss for the visitors could see them drop as low as ninth in the table, if those below them win their respective games.
