Everton striker Cenk Tosun showed his quality with a brace for Turkey against Moldova.

It was a much needed confidence boost for the striker, who has flopped for the Toffees this season.

Tosun can be proud of his start at international level for Turkey. He has two goals in two games in the Euro 2020 qualifiers.

Unfortunately that serves as reason for him to be embarrassed at his Everton stat line this season too.

Two goals is all he has managed in the Premier League this season.

That is across nine starts, 21 total appearances, and 935 minutes of action.

Of course there are no Moldova’s to face in the Premier League. If there were, Tosun would be prolific.

It’s a timely lift for Tosun, who has not scored in the league since October.

His goals might help Everton cash in on Tosun in the summer if that’s their choice, with Tosun keeping his reputation in his homeland high.

The goals will give Tosun belief he can have another fresh start at Everton over the next two months. He is running out of time to impress at Goodison.
