Potential good news for West Ham United as Everton will reportedly only move for West Brom’s Jonny Evans if Sam Allardyce remains as manager.
West Ham United may have been given some good news in their pursuit of West Bromwich Albion captain Jonny Evans.
Birmingham Live reports that the Hammers are among a host of sides interested in Evans, but have currently shown the most commitment to signing the defender at the end of the season.
Everton are also thought to be keen on the 30-year-old, but any chance of them moving for the Northern Ireland international will depend on whether Sam Allardyce remains as manager or not – something that remains unclear currently.
Leicester City are also keeping tabs on Evans, while both Arsenal and Manchester City have had bids for the centre-back rejected over the past 12 months.
Interest is likely to remain high in the former Manchester United star as he is available to sign for just £3m this summer should West Brom get relegated; which seems highly likely with the Baggies currently bottom go the Premier League table and eight points from safety.
West Ham themselves aren’t clear of the drop after losing 4-1 at Swansea City at the weekend, but if they do stay up appear to be the current favourites to land Evans – boosted by the Toffees’ stance concerning Allardyce.
