New Everton signing Cenk Tosun has claimed that his physical strength makes him well suited to the Premier League.
The striker joined Everton from Besiktas last week in a £27 million move and is determined to make an instant impact for his new club.
Tosun told the club’s official website: “I can say that I am a very good and dangerous striker when I am in the penalty box. I believe this. It is a great plus that I can use both of my feet.
“If I get a chance in the penalty box, I usually score. I can also say that I am very strong, which is very important in England. But there are still things about me that I can work at and improve.”
Being effective with both feet is certainly a very useful asset for a striker, but it is Tosun’s physical strength which could be of particular use as he looks to get the better of opposing defenders in the Premier League.
It was clear that Everton needed to sign a striker after they failed to sufficiently replace Romelu Lukaku last summer, and it is hoped that Tosun, who scored 64 goals in 142 games for Besiktas, will prove to be the answer to The Toffees’ problems.
Everton have improved immensely under Sam Allardyce and the club will hope to now secure a top half finish in the Premier League, with Tosun determined to play a part in proceedings.
Next up for Everton is an away game against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday and scoring at Wembley would be an ideal way for Tosun to announce himself in English football.
