Everton are said to have made contact with Besiktas over Oguzhan Ozyakup.

Everton want Arsenal midfielder Wilshere as their first choice, but they know they face fierce competition for the England international.
Wilshere’s contract at Arsenal is due to expire in the summer, meaning he is set to have plenty of offers.
And Everton already have a contingency plan in place, in case they can’t get Wilshere’s deal over the line.

The Toffees are said to have already made contact with Besiktas over signing Ozyakup.
However, Ozyakup would not even be in the same league of signing as Wilshere.
Ozyakup actually broke through at Arsenal at the same time as Wilshere, but the Gunners let the Turkish international go for a reason.
Ozyakup wasn’t as good as Wilshere as a youngster, and he still isn’t as much of a talent now.

Ozyakup has gone on to enjoy a stellar career with Besiktas, and he is a valuable option for Senol Gunes’ side.
But Wilshere would represent a really ambitious target for Everton, and he is the kind of player who could take them to the next level.
Of course, the Toffees would be relying on Wilshere staying fit, but he would be a considerable upgrade on what they already have.
And if Everton have to resort to signing Ozyakup, after missing out on Wilshere, it would have to be considered a big disappointment.
