According to The Sun, Everton are trying to sign Nathan Ake from Bournemouth and if they get him he could be a better buy than Kurt Zouma.

Everton have been attempting to sign Zouma for much of the summer so far, after his impressive loan spell at Goodison Park.

However, Marco Silva’s side have been frustrated in their attempts, and now seem to be turning their attention elsewhere.

Everton are now reportedly keen to sign Ake, and if they did pull off the signing of the Bournemouth centre-back it would be a hugely impressive swoop.

Ake may not possess the same physical qualities as Zouma, but he is arguably the better centre-back.

Ake is more comfortable in possession, is just as quick and his robust tackling has made him a star for Bournemouth.

The 24-year-old would be an expensive recruit for Everton, but his quality is undoubted, and if Silva’s side could bring him at the last minute, then he would be a wonderful signing.
