Everton are said to be interested in signing Jamaal Lascelles from Newcastle United.

Everton could have England’s next central defensive pairing, if they partner both Jamaal Lascelles and Michael Keane together at Goodison Park.

According to the Chronicle, Everton are interested in signing Lascelles from Newcastle United – with Sam Allardyce keen on improving his defence for next season.

And if Lascelles does arrive, then Everton would have two potential candidates for England’s centre-back slots.

Of course, Keane would likely have to improve his performances by a considerable amount of get into the Three Lions’ squad, but Gareth Southgate remains a big fan.

Lascelles is also a player who has impressed this season, with his form at Newcastle catching the eye.

Even more interestingly, Everton already have Jordan Pickford at the club, which means they could dominate England’s defensive players for the coming years.
