According to a report in L’Equipe, Everton are after Clement Grenier and he could be one of the bargain buys of the summer transfer window.

Grenier could be available in a cut-price deal, with Guingamp said to be prepared to sell him for just £2.65 million.

Everton have now been alerted to the midfielder’s availability, and at such a price he looks a great value for money buy.

Grenier has proven his quality in Ligue 1 over a number of seasons, and he has been linked with a Premier League move for a considerable amount of time.

In 2014, Newcastle United made an £11 million offer for Grenier, but it was turned down, as reported by the Daily Mail.

That shows just how cheaply Everton could be getting Grenier, especially as the market has generally become considerably more inflated since then.

Grenier wouldn’t necessarily be a permanent starter for Marco Silva’s side.

However, as a back-up option, on such a cheap fee, Everton could be getting a deal which has very little downside, and it would have to go down as an excellent piece of business from Marcel Brands.
