Everton allowed Dennis Adeniran to leave the club this summer – and he has now joined Sheffield Wednesday on a free transfer.

Adeniran was a hot prospect in his time at Fulham, and after links to top Premier League sides, he joined Arsenal in a £4million deal back in 2017.

Many were tipping Adeniran for a big future at Everton, but he never made a single first-team appearance for the Toffees.

Adeniran spent last season on loan at Wycombe Wanderers, but didn’t do enough for Everton to extend his contract when it expired last month.

The 22-year-old midfielder has known for some time that his exit was coming, confirming on Instagram in May that he was leaving Goodison Park.

Sheffield Wednesday have now confirmed the move, though haven’t disclosed the length of his contract at Hillsborough.

Adeniran may have been valued in the millions four years ago, but he’s now on them move for nothing, with Wednesday hoping to tap into his potential.

With his debut coming today against Chester, Adeniran has an immediate opportunity to put his Everton exit behind him and start his Wednesday career in style.
