Everton may be tempted to sack Frank Lampard very soon.
The Toffees are in a relegation dogfight right now, and with two crunch matches against West Ham and Southampton coming up, failure to win either of those matches may end up being the final straw for Lampard.
However, in our view, Everton should hold off on replacing Lampard – for now at least.
Now, we’re not saying that Lampard should stay in this job for the long-term. His time at Goodison Park has been nothing short of an abject failure, but Everton should hold off on sacking him for a few weeks due to one man – Graham Potter.

Indeed, while Lampard may well be leading the Premier League sack race right now, Potter won’t be too far behind.
The Chelsea manager has the Blues in free-fall at the moment. They’ve won just one of their last eight matches, and if this run goes on for much longer, the west London club will be looking at a bottom-half finish.
Chelsea have been known to be trigger-happy when it comes to sacking managers in the past, and Potter could be the next victim of the Stamford Bridge managerial merry-go-round if he fails to get results against both Crystal Palace and Liverpool.
Make no mistake about it though, Potter isn’t a bad manager, he’s seemingly just not suited to a club like Chelsea where the dressing room is full of egos and a big personality is more important than good coaching.
Potter, as he has shown at Brighton, has the capabilities to do a fantastic job with clubs that have certain aspirations, and Everton certainly fall into that category.
The Toffees would love to be a top-half team, and Potter could deliver that if he ends up being their next manager.
The ex-Brighton gaffer has been on Everton’s shortlist before, so this is one that could come to fruition.
In our view, Everton should hold fire on replacing Lampard to see if Potter comes onto the managerial market in the coming weeks.
