West Bromwich Albion winger Matt Phillips would be an interesting option for Everton this summer.

A report from talkSPORT last week claimed that Kevin Mirallas no longer features in Ronald Koeman’s plans at Goodison Park, as the Dutchman continues his squad overhaul on Merseyside.

Should the Toffees end up selling the Belgian, they will obviously have to sign a replacement winger to fill the void that would be left behind by the 29-year-old, and with this in mind, they should consider offering his services in exchange for Baggies star Matt Phillips.

The 26-year-old only moved to the Hawthorns last summer, for a fee believed to be in the region of £5.5 million, and has since gone on to establish himself as a vital member of Tony Pulis’ side.

He scored four goals and chipped in with eight assists in 27 Premier League appearances for West Brom, and showcased not only his flair and creativity, but also his incredible work-ethic – something that would surely appeal most to Koeman.

Phillips would be a superb addition to the Everton side, especially with Yannick Bolasie still in the rehabilitation stage of his recovery from a long-term injury, and Aaron Lennon’s well documented personal problems.

The Baggies man is incredibly athletic, which is a prerequisite for any potential Koeman signing, what with the Dutchman’s insistence on high intensity pressing from his players.

He is technically gifted, and possesses wonderful vision, which would offer the Toffees an added threat to their attacking play.

And whilst Pulis would surely be reluctant to sanction Phillips’ exit from the Hawthorns, the offer of Mirallas as part of the deal would surely make him more susceptible to doing business.

As much as the West Brom winger would greatly improve the Blues, the Belgium international would offer equal benefits to Pulis’ side.

His experience and quality would surely improve upon the Baggies impotent attack, and the flair with which he plays the game could get the Hawthorns faithful excited again.

And if an agreement can be reached by both clubs involving the two players, it could turn out to be a deal that reaps great rewards for all parties concerned.
