The young Everton winger is yet to feature in the Premier League this season.

When Everton signed Sandro Ramirez from Malaga for a cut-price fee it looked like being one of the bargains of the summer. However, the 22-year-old has struggled in his early appearances for the Toffees, and while some are directing the blame at him, the same can be said of his manager Ronald Koeman.

After all, Sandro proved in La Liga that he can score regularly and Everton need to ensure he has the support from further back to get the best out of him.

While there is plenty of creativity in an attacking midfield three of Wayne Rooney, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Davy Klaassen, there is very little pace, and as a result Sandro is not able to play the poacher role as much as he would like.

Everton need more unpredictability from the flanks and for that reason they should be looking at 19-year-old Ademola Lookman, who had an outstanding debut back in January but has struggled for game time this season.

The former Charlton Athletic winger shone for England during their U20 World Cup triumph and he deserves to get more chances at Everton, especially when you consider their lack of goal-scoring threat thus far despite their significant outlay this summer.

Sandro will come good if he is given time, but he also needs something different behind him; a player who is willing to break forward and create space with his movement rather than with a clever ball that is far easier to cut out.

Without a single league appearance for Everton this season, Lookman must be wondering what he has done wrong, especially when you consider he would be the perfect foil for Sandro.

Koeman will hopefully realise that in time, and upcoming cup matches against Atalanta and Sunderland should give Lookman a chance to stake his claim.
