The Everton midfielder has been a fringe player this season.

Muhamed Besic arrived at Everton from Ferencvaros in 2014 with a reputation for being an extremely talented young player, but he has been unable to fulfil his potential at Goodison Park.

Injuries certainly haven’t helped Besic’s cause, with hamstring problems and a torn anterior cruciate ligament significantly reducing his game time.

This season, despite being over his injuries, Besic has been a fringe player for Everton and has made just two Premier League appearances.

The return to fitness of James McCarthy has pushed Besic further down the pecking order at Everton and it now seems that the 25-year-old has little chance of getting back into the starting lineup on a regular basis under Sam Allardyce.

Besic is a neat passer of the ball and the Bosnia & Herzegovina international has good technical ability but at times he has found it difficult to cope with the demands of the Premier League and it would perhaps be best for all parties if he was to be sold this month.

If Besic was to leave then Everton would free up a squad space and could also use the money received from his sale to improve their squad further.

Besic certainly needs to play regularly at this stage of his career and it is difficult to envisage him getting sufficient opportunities at Everton, meaning he should move on.
