It is unlikely that Everton will launch a challenge for the Premier League title this season, but with a bit of luck, they can push for a top-four finish.
Cesc Fabregas would be a brilliant addition for the Toffees in the January transfer window if they are to compete for a Champions League place.
Given the start the Toffees have made to the season, there is a good chance that they could be in the mix for the top four by December.
Fabregas is one of the best midfielders in the world, and his experience of winning titles and competing at the highest level would be a massive help to Everton.
West Ham United have been linked with Fabregas, with The Mirror recently reporting their interest in the former Arsenal and Barcelona star.
The Spain international is not guaranteed a place in the Chelsea starting lineup, and perhaps he could be tempted into leaving Stamford Bridge in January.
If Fabregas becomes available in January, then Everton should make a move and try to get ahead of West Ham in the queue.
Chelsea may not be inclined to sell Fabregas to top-four rivals, but the Toffees should still give it a go.
The 29-year-old 2010 World Cup winner is certainly going to enhance the quality of Everton’s midfield and make Ronald Koeman’s side a better team.
