The Sporting Lisbon ace would be a superb addition for Everton.

Marco Silva the head coach

Everton boss Marco Silva must make it his priority to sign an established striker this summer.

The Portuguese has the makings of a very exciting team at Goodison Park, but he is clearly lacking a forward who can act as a focal point for his side’s attacking play.

And with this in mind, the Toffees should consider renewing their interest in Sporting Lisbon hitman Bas Dost.

The Blues wanted to sign the 30-year-old last summer, according to Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dadgblad, but a move obviously failed to materialise.

Here’s why he’d be perfect for the Merseyside outfit now…

Strong in the air…perfect target man

Standing at 6ft 5in tall, the Dutchman would be the ideal man to lead Everton’s attack.

He is strong in the air, and his ability to hold up the ball with his back to goal would help bring some of the Toffees’ more technically gifted players into the game.

Clinical in front of goal

Dost boasts an incredible goal record. He has bagged 218 in 405 career appearances, including 93 goals in just 125 outings for Sporting.

The giant striker is absolutely deadly when presented with a goalscoring opportunity, and this would help Everton improve upon the potency of their play in the final third.

He could be an absolute bargain

The 30-year-old is available for just £10 million this summer, according to Portuguese media outlet O Jogo.

In today’s day and age, that would be an absolute steal for Everton, and Silva must not hesitate to bring the towering Dutchman to Goodison Park this summer.
