Everton were linked with Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake earlier in the transfer window.
Everton should consider making a move for Chelsea’s Nathan Ake, if he is available for £20 million – as The Sun suggests.
Everton are known to be looking for a new centre-back this summer, but they appear to be looking at other players rather than Ake at this moment in time.
The Toffees are now closing in on a deal to sign Michael Keane from Burnley – but there may be an argument to suggest that Ake actually represents better value for money.
Keane is set to cost Everton around £25 million, according to the Daily Mail, which makes him more expensive than Ake.
Keane would undoubtedly improve Everton’s defence, but Ake is two years younger and it could be argued that the Chelsea prospect has more potential.
Keane only has one season of playing regular Premier League football under his belt, which is similar to Ake – who spent a productive time on loan at Bournemouth last term.
And if Chelsea are set to sell at the £20 million mark, then Everton should seriously consider entering the race for the Dutch international’s signature, as he could be a great addition at Goodison Park for next season.
