Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Everton have all been linked with Sandro Ramirez – but will The Toffees choose him over Henry Onyekuru? Or perhaps both.
After Sport claimed that Malaga forward Sandro Ramirez could be available for as little as £6 million thanks to a rather weak buyout clause, it was only a matter of time before Premier League suitors made their interest clear.
And why not? Sandro may not have made the grade at Barcelona but he has thrived away from the spotlight in the Costa Del Sol, netting 12 La Liga goals for a struggling Malaga side while cutting in from the left like some reverse Robben.
As such, Sport add that the versatile forward has piqued Tottenham Hotspur’s interest. Understandably so, given that Vincent Janssen, with two goals from open play all season, has hardly eased the goalscoring burden on top scorer Harry Kane.
AS add that Liverpool may also join the race, such is their need for a prolific goalscorer.
Though they may have competition from the blue half of Merseyside. AS also reports that Everton have now joined the race in what is shaping up to be a summer-long tug-of-war.
Sandro the saviour?
Given that top scorer Romelu Lukaku has his heart set on an exit at the end of the season, and the fact no other player in Ronald Koeman’s squad has more than four Premier League goals to their name, they could clearly do with a finisher as emphatic as Sandro.
The question, however, is whether he will be their priority. The Sun reported earlier in the week that Everton have jumped to the front of the queue for £7 million rated KAS Eupen forward Henry Onyekuru.
One, the other, or both?
The 19-year-old Nigerian has 18 league goals to his name in a sensational debut campaign. And, like Sandro, Onyekuru is equally capable of flitting in from the left.
Both are young, raw and would arrive in England as somewhat unknown quantities. However, with Sandro starring in a much more competitive league, his signing would instil a little more excitement.
