Everton have been linked with another young talented winger in Steven Bergwijn.

The January transfer window may be over, but speculation already surrounds Everton and some of their potential summer transfer targets after a disappointing campaign.
Manager Sam Allardyce managed to bring in Eliaquim Mangala, Theo Walcott and Cenk Tosun in January, but given that the Toffees have fallen well short of expectations this season, more changes could arrive this summer.
The latest player to be linked with a move to Goodison Park is PSV Eindhoven winger Steven Bergwijn, with ESPN reporting that Everton are rivalling Tottenham Hotspur for the wide man.

Bergwijn, 20, has shown major talent with PSV, notching five goals and four assists this season, and the Dutchman looks to have a huge future ahead of him if he continues on his current trajectory.
However, Everton making any sort of big-money move for Bergwijn would be entirely foolish given that they can’t even find a role for their own wing talent, Ademola Lookman.
Lookman – also 20 – was one of England’s top young talents with Charlton, but has struggled for playing time under Allardyce, having failed to start a single Premier League game since Big Sam’s arrival.

The wide man has now been farmed out on loan to German side RB Leipzig, and has already shown Allardyce what he’s missing having scored the winning goal against Borussia Monchengladbach last weekend.
Rather than investing in another pacey, skillful attacker, Everton need to nurture the players they already have – and Lookman should be the priority, not battling Spurs for Bergwijn’s signature.
