The Stoke City maestro has been linked with a move to Liverpool, but Everton should look to muscle in.

Xherdan Shaqiri is allegedly looking to secure a move away from relegated Stoke City this summer, and Liverpool are the latest club to show an interest in the former-Bayern Munich forward, according to the Express.
The Switzerland international has a £12 million buy-out clause at the Potters, and is allegedly wanted by recently departed manager Mark Hughes at Southampton, and also by Tottenham, with Mauricio Pochettino looking to improve the supply line to Harry Kane next term (the Sun).
However, Liverpool have emerged as favourites to land the 26-year-old’s signature. But their city rivals should be the ones vying for his services this summer.

Despite record investment at Goodison Park last term, Everton endured a poor season, with fans bemoaning the style of football under Sam Allardyce.
The Blues finished 19th in the league for number of shots registered, shots on target and chances created, highlighting the need for a creative maestro like Shaqiri to add a bit of star-dust to play in the final third.
At Liverpool, Shaqiri would be resigned to a bit-part role due to the formidable form of their current front-three and, as an inverted winger playing on the right, he does not offer anything different to their talisman Mohamed Salah.

Everton would instantly offer Shaqiri a regular first-team position alongside Cenk Tosun, as a vital cog in their new project, as they look to bring European football back to the club under Marco Silva’s tenure.
