West Ham United are reportedly considering cashing in on some of their brightest youngsters, so perhaps Everton should make a move.

The report may have horrified some Hammers supporters as there a number of exciting youngsters coming through at the moment, and they appear to have the potential to be important players at Premier League level in the future.

So should Everton join the race for the teenager and see if they can land one of their top flight rivals’ brightest talents?

With the likes of Ashley Williams and Phil Jagielka well into their 30s, their next boss will undoubtedly need to start thinking about freshening up the Toffees’ options at the heart of the defence.
Rice has made a handful of Premier League appearances already, and could perhaps be ready to step up by the time that the likes of Jagielka and Willams step aside.
And if it is David Unsworth who gets the Everton job permanently, it could certainly be argued that Rice would have an excellent manager to aid his development if he did make the switch to Goodison Park.
West Ham would undoubtedly be foolish to sell some of their brightest prospects in January, but if they actually do decide to take such drastic action, Everton should have no hesitation in trying to take advantage of the situation.
