Crystal Palace are not the only club in crisis at the moment, just ask Everton boss Ronald Koeman.
The Toffees boss is under pressure after overseeing a dreadful run of form which culminated in the 4-0 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The result saw Koeman’s side slip into the bottom three in the fledgling Premier League table.
The scoreline made it 12 goals Everton have conceded in the last four games without reply.
And despite spending nearly £150 million in the summer that statistic highlights more than any other where Koeman’s problems are, up front.
The Dutchman was desperate to sign another striker to add to Wayne Rooney and Sandro Ramirez following the departure of Romelu Lukaku.
But interest in the likes of Olivier Giroud and Lucas Perez came to nothing leaving them short of quality options.
One club worse off than Everton this season so far is Crystal Palace.
The Eagles sit bottom of the Premier League having lost all five of their games so far this season without scoring a single goal.
Hardly the biggest incentive then to move for the South Londoners’ main striker, Christian Benteke.
But Koeman should go big for the Belgian in January if Palace are cut adrift by then and staring relegation in the face.
Palace could be tempted to get the best possible price for a player who cost them an eye watering £32m from Liverpool and whose value would only diminish with a relegation on his cv.
And despite enduring a nightmare season so far, Benteke would undoubtedly relish the quality service on offer at Goodison Park with the likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson, Rooney and co supplying the ammunition.
