Everton seem determined to retain star striker Romelu Lukaku ahead of the summer transfer window.

Everton striker Romelu Lukaku has been impressive in the 2016/17 campaign, with his 25 Premier League goals bettered only by Tottenham star Harry Kane, who won the Golden Boot with 29 goals.
The 24-year-old’s incredible form has sparked interest from Premier League rivals Manchester United and Chelsea, which Everton have responded to by putting a £100million price tag on their prize asset, reports the Guardian.
The Toffees valuation of the Belgian international is a clear indication of their desire to retain his services for at least another season, as clubs would have to set a new world record transfer fee to sign him.

It is thought Lukaku wants to play at a club who are in the Champion’s League and the Belgian has more than proved he has the ability and quality to step up to the big stage.
For Everton to retain his services, it is only right that they match the ambition of the former-Chelsea striker and strive to mount a serious challenge for the Champion’s League places next season themselves.
Ronald Koeman should prove this desire for Champions League football by building his squad around the Belgian international and strengthening the side to challenge the Premier League’s elite.
This would mean investing heavily in the summer to both to increase the depth of the Everton squad and strengthen the quality to prove the Toffees have the ambition and capability to rival the Premier League’s top clubs.
The Toffees should focus on signing players with a winning mentality who will be hungry for silverware and success, using that mindset to strive to achieve those goals, including pushing for success in one of the domestic cup competitions.
Leicester City’s Premier League title win last season proved anything can happen in football and Everton should show themselves, their fans and Lukaku that they have the desire to be successful.
Failure to do so would mean Everton would only be delaying what would be the inevitable departure of Romelu Lukaku in a very long winded transfer saga.
