Everton need to buy a new left-back in the summer transfer window.

Everton have been heavily linked with Luke Shaw in recent times, but they should also consider Daley Blind.

The Daily Mirror claim that Manchester United are set to sell Blind in the summer transfer window, as he has struggled for game time this season.

And Blind may be a cheaper option for Everton, than Shaw will be.

Shaw is also expected to leave Old Trafford at the end of the season, as his relationship with Jose Mourinho appears strained.

But Shaw would cost a considerable fee, and Blind could offer Everton exactly what they are missing for a much cheaper price.

Everton need a new left-back, as it has been a troublesome position for the side so far this term.

Leighton Baines has missed much of the season with injury, which has caused Cuco Martina to play out of position at left-back.

Martina has looked completely exposed, and if Everton are to advance they will need a new left-back.

And Blind would surely be an upgrade on the current options available to Sam Allardyce.

Blind may not be blessed with great pace, but he is a tough tackler, an excellent crosser and an accurate passer.

And if United are willing to sell the Dutch international, Everton would be wise to offer him a new home.
