Everton are on the look out for a new striker this summer, with Ronald Koeman keen to strengthen his attacking options.
According to the Daily Mail, Everton were interested in Christian Benteke at the start of the transfer window, and Ronald Koeman should focus his attention to signing the powerful Belgian again now.
Everton were weighing up a move for Benteke, as they searched for striking replacements for Romelu Lukaku.
It turned out that Everton decided the Crystal Palace man was not their first choice, with Koeman’s side chasing Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud instead.

And Koeman should now put Benteke back on his wish list, as he searches for a new striker.
Benteke may not quite be on the same level as Lukaku, but there can be no doubting his goalscoring prowess.
The 26-year-old has scored 66 goals in 155 Premier League appearances, across a five year stay in England.
Benteke would be ready to step into Everton’s first team immediately, and his power and aerial prowess would give Koeman’s side a different option in attack.
Although Palace are likely to want to keep hold of Benteke, Everton have shown that they have the pulling power and financial strength to get deals for their top targets over the line.
And, following the cooling of their interest in Giroud, Benteke now looks like the Toffees’ next best option.
