According to the Guardian, West Ham United are making a move for Andre Schurrle and Everton would be wise to rival David Moyes’ side for the German international.

Schurrle could be made available on loan by Borussia Dortmund, as he has struggled for first team appearances this season.

The former Chelsea man has played just eight times across all competitions, with Dortmund now willing to offload the attacker.

And Schurrle could be a great short-term option for Everton, as Sam Allardyce looks to improve his attack.

Although Everton are expected to sign Cenk Tosun, they could still benefit with strengthening their attack further.

Schurrle is already of proven Premier League quality, having impressed at Chelsea previously, and he would enhance Everton’s attacking options.

Allardyce would also have the option of effectively trying the 27-year-old out, before having the possibility of making the move permanent in the summer.

If Schurrle did prove valuable, then Everton would be able to finance a permanent deal six months down the line, and if things didn’t work out then they would be under no obligation to buy.

As a result, bringing in Schurrle on loan for six months appears to have no downside for Everton, and it should be a transfer that Allardyce considers in the coming weeks.
