Ronald Koeman suggested that he almost signed Memphis Depay for Everton last summer.
Everton should right the wrong of last summer, and move again for Memphis Depay at the end of the season.
He said: “I like the player and we tried [to sign him] but we couldn’t reach an agreement.”
Depay has turned out to be a big miss for Everton, as he has enjoyed a wonderful season at Lyon since his £16 million switch.
The Dutch winger has hit 15 goals and claimed 10 assists across all competitions.
Depay has quickly became vital to Lyon, and he could return to England with a point to prove.
Depay only showed his quality in flashes at United, but if he was brought to Everton, he would surely be a key player right from the off.
If the Toffees could line up with Depay down the left flank and Theo Walcott on the right, they would have a wing-combination that would rival any in the Premier League.
And Everton should make a second attempt to sign Depay, and push harder this time, as he could be a brilliant addition at Goodison Park.
