Everton defender Luke Garbutt has not featured for the Merseyside outfit since way back in 2015.

Leighton Baines’ woeful form for Everton may mean that recalling Luke Garbutt to the first-team is Ronald Koeman’s best option.
Baines has looked totally off the pace this season, with his advancing years seemingly catching up with him.
Baines is now 32-years-old, and seems to have lost a yard of pace – which makes him very vulnerable defensively.
Garbutt, meanwhile, has only just started making his comeback at Everton, but he has shown some promising signs in his performances for the under-23’s.

Garbutt has never really developed into the prospect that many Everton supporters hoped he would, when he burst on to the scene as a youngster.
But with Everton’s options so short at left-back, giving Garbutt a chance could be an inspired choice.

Garbutt would have a serious point to prove if he was included back in Everton’s team, and there would be no questions over his pace.
With Everton needing an injection of energy, Garbutt could provide that down the left-hand side, and it may be time for Koeman to bring him in from the cold.
