Everton boss Ronald Koeman believes that summer signing Nikola Vlasic is one of the brightest prospects in Europe – but so is his countryman.
Everton boss Ronald Koeman has probably left Toffees supporters excited about summer signing Nikola Vlasic’s potential after telling the Liverpool Echo that the Croatian is one of the most exciting prospects in Europe currently earlier this week.
Vlasic is certainly one to watch out for over the next few years, but perhaps the Toffees should also take a look at the winger’s countryman as he also appears set to have one of the brightest futures ahead of him.
Lovro Majer is a 19-year-old midfielder who made his debut for the Croatia senior side earlier this year – making his bow in the friendly with Mexico back in May, which, coincidentally, was also the game that saw Vlasic make his debut for the senior side.
The teenager is current side’s NK Lokomotiva’s top goalscorer in the Croatian top flight this term, having scored three times in just seven games from his attacking midfield role.
His quality has reportedly attracted Celtic’s attention, as reported by the Evening Times back in June, and it would hardly be a surprise if he continues to attract admirers as he gains more and more experience.
But if Vlasic thrives at Goodison and Everton decide to try and follow up that deal by targeting a move for Majer, then perhaps seeing his countryman doing so may help the Toffees win what could surely be a congested race for his signature, based on the potential he has shown so far.
