The Schalke ace could be a sensational signing for Everton in January.

Everton manager Ronald Koeman at a press conference at Goodison Park on July 10, 2017 in Liverpool, England.

Toffees boss Ronald Koeman has a lot of work to do both on the training field and in the January transfer window, if he is to turn his side’s fortunes around this season.

Everton have made a stuttering start to their 2017/18 campaign, both home and abroad, and the Dutchman already finds himself under intense pressure, after spending roughly £140 million in the summer.

One particular area of the Blues squad that needs addressing is central midfield, after losing both Gareth Barry and Tom Cleverley during the transfer window, and a wonderful option for them could be Schalke ace Leon Goretzka, whose contract expires in the summer of 2018.

Koeman should tempt the German outfit into selling the 22-year-old by making an offer in January, and with the risk of losing him for nothing next year, they would surely have to at least consider any kind of approach from the Merseysiders.

The 10-capped Germany international is wonderfully versatile, and can operate anywhere form central midfield to the wide attacking areas.

Standing at 6ft 2in, Goretzka has the perfect build to be successful in the Premier League. He possesses an impressive engine, and his ability on the ball enables him to shine in tight games.

The Schalke man is available for around £21 million in January, according to the Sun, and that would represent an incredible bargain for Everton.

They will not have things all their own way, however, with some of Europe’s biggest clubs interested in signing the German.
