Everton boss Sam Allardyce has confirmed that he wants to sign Theo Walcott from Arsenal this month.

Sam Allardyce has confirmed that Everton are making a bid for Arsenal’s Theo Walcott, but moving for Liverpool forward Daniel Sturridge may actually make more sense.

Arsenal are said to be looking to receive £20 million for Walcott by the Telegraph, and the forward is on a hefty wage.

For just £10 million more, Everton could take Sturridge off their rivals.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Jurgen Klopp wants £30 million for Sturridge, and he could be a far more useful option to Everton than Walcott.

Of course, Sturridge’s injury record is a concern, but on his day he is one of the very best strikers in the Premier League.

Sturridge has every tool in his armoury to scare defenders, and his scoring record is highly impressive.

Sturridge has 75 Premier League goals across 194 appearances during the course of his career, which eclipses Walcott’s record of 65 strikes in 269 matches.

And, with both available, it may just be that Everton are going after the wrong man in Walcott, as for just £10 million more they could take Sturridge from their Merseyside rivals.
