Everton reportedly wanted to sign Olivier Giroud from Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

The France international has stated that he is happy at Arsenal despite not being guaranteed a place in the starting lineup.
The 31-year-old, who won the Ligue 1 title with Montpellier in 2012 and the FA Cup in England with Arsenal in 2014, 2015 and 2017, has played a total of just 177 minutes in the Premier League for the Gunners so far this season.

“No, for the moment I am not questioning myself about my future,” Giroud told The Mirror. “I am happy at Arsenal and I am fine with the decision to stay because I want to.
I am thinking that the story between the club and myself is not over and not finished. I keep believing in my quality and I keep the faith.
“I have a lot of objectives with Arsenal and my country so I always try to move forward and keep scoring.”

Everton should move on
According to The Mirror, Everton wanted to sign Giroud from Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
It has been reported that Ronald Koeman, who was recently dismissed as the Toffees’ manager, was desperate to sign the Frenchman.
Reports in The Liverpool Echo and Metro in September claimed that the Toffees will make a bid of £40 million for Giroud in the January transfer window.
Given the Frenchman’s aforementioned comments, it would make sense for the Merseyside outfit to stop chasing him and look for a striker elsewhere.
