West Ham United are reportedly open to offers for midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate and Everton should pounce to snap up a bargain.
Everton boss Marco Silva is on the hunt for quality new recruits this summer and could snap up a bargain from West Ham in a deal that suits all parties.
Sky Sports reports West Ham are open to offers of around £10 million for box-to-box midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate as new boss Manuel Pellegrini looks to reshape his squad.
According to the likes of The Guardian Everton must sell to buy and owner Farhad Moshiri will not be sanctioning the kind of large scale spending which flopped last season.
With money already in the bank from the sale of Wayne Rooney and a number of midfielders likely to depart such as Davy Klaassen and Morgan Schneiderlin Silva will have to strengthen the heart of his Toffees team.
And he could turn Kouyate into a monster again by pairing him with Senegal teammate Idrissa Gueye in the midfield at Goodison Park.
Kouyate has literally gone from monster to mouse for West Ham since signing from Anderlecht.
In his first two seasons Kouyate was arguably the club’s most important player. His all round game, boundless energy, bravery, crucial goals and ability to slot in at centre back when needed made him a crucial asset to the East Londoners.
This past season, though, Kouyate has been woeful. Yes he has struggled with injuries but when fit the midfielder just does not have the same impact on the team nowadays.
It has been one of the main talking points of West Ham’s season so far that Kouyate has looked so out of sorts.
The marauding midfielder has similar qualities to the great Patrick Vieira but they have rarely been on show in the last 18 months.
Often linked with moves to both Tottenham and Liverpool, perhaps a change of scenery and a fresh challenge at Everton could benefit Kouyate and suit both clubs too.
