The Bristol City left-back would be an excellent signing for Everton.

Although there are several other areas of their squad which require improvement, Everton would be advised to bring in a new left-back before the transfer window closes next week.

Cuco Martina has been filling in in that position but has endured some difficulties, while Leighton Baines remains injured and Luke Garbutt, despite being talented, isn’t necessarily going to be a part of Sam Allardyce’s plans.

It appears that Everton have identified Joe Bryan, who has produced some excellent performances for Bristol City this season, as a solution to the problem, as reported by The Birmingham Mail.

Bryan certainly seems to be an option worth pursuing for Everton given that he is dependable defensively and also poses a significant attacking threat.

Furthermore, given that he is only 24 years old, Bryan has much time on his side to develop further.

Bryan doesn’t possess any Premier League experience but his performances in the Championship and during Bristol City’s Carabao Cup campaign indicate that he is ready to make the step up to play in the top flight.

Bringing in Bryan could well prove to be an inspired move for Everton that could help their cause both now and for many years to come.
