Everton have been linked with a mega-money move for the Dutchman.

A Bola reported this week that Everton were reluctant to pay Bas Dost’s £54 million release clause at Sporting Lisbon.
Everton are in dire need of a striker after Ronald Koeman tried and failed to sign a number of hitmen during the summer as Romelu Lukaku replacements.
Dost is the latest name to crop up but should Everton consider paying the huge sum?

The Dutchman bagged 34 league goals in 31 games for the Portuguese side last term.
The former Wolfsburg hitman, 28, is a year younger than Diego Costa whom, according to The Mirror, Everton were willing to pay £70 million for during the summer.
The Toffees need a dynamic marksman up top and Dost might well be the answer.

Such a move would also help £45 million playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson who not only has no goals and no assists since joining the Goodison Park club, but he has also failed to create a single goalscoring chance for Koeman’s side and such a damning statistic is perhaps a reflection on the limited options he had ahead of him.
If Everton are going to get the best out of Sigurdsson then they need a dynamic figure ahead of him and although expensive, Dost might be that man.
