This summer’s transfer window will be an extremely important one for Everton, and a Tottenham player could hold the key to their success next season.

The Toffees are expected to make a real push for the top six next term, but there is plenty of work still to be done.

One key issue for Marco Silva to address will be what to do with Idrissa Gueye.

Paris United reported today that PSG want to sign the Senegalese ace, but Everton are demanding £45 million for the midfielder.

If the Blues do sell Gueye, they will have to bring in an able bodied replacement.

And who better for the job than Tottenham midfielder Victory Wanyama.

The 27-year-old Spurs man could be available for transfer this summer, according to a report from the Daily Mail, as Mauricio Pochettino looks to freshen up his central midfield options, and he would be a superb addition for Everton.

Wanyama is a tough-tackling, ball-winning midfielder, and he would be the ideal replacement for Gueye.

The Kenya international, who earns £65,000 per week at Tottenham according to Spotrac, would add some real bite to Everton’s midfield, and he would compliment Andre Gomez perfectly.

Whilst Blues fans will not want to see Gueye leave Goodison Park, the potential rival of Wanyama would undoubtedly help soften the blow.

And if offered the opportunity of regular first-team football at Everton, he would surely be tempted to leave Tottenham to join up with Marco Silva’s side this summer.

The only red flag for the Merseyside outfit will be Wanyama’s injury problems last season, but if he can be picked up for a respectable fee, he will be well worth the risk for Everton.
