Juventus winger Marko Pjaca was reportedly offered to Liverpool for just £22 million, so perhaps Everton should be taking a look.
As reported recently by Gazetta dello Sport, Juventus winger Marko Pjaca was offered to Liverpool for £22 million, but it appears the Reds’ focus has now shifted to another target.
According to the Sun, the club are in talks to sign a cheaper alternative in Stoke City star Xherdan Shaqiri, with the Switzerland international having a release clause of just £13.5 million.
With the Reds seemingly set on securing Shaqiri, perhaps Everton should be looking at the man their rivals appear to be snubbing, Pjaca, because the Croatia international is an exciting young talent who is surplus to requirements now at Juventus, especially with Cristiano Ronaldo joining from Real Madrid.
Pjaca, who has made just 14 league appearances for the Old Lady since joining the club in 2016, was loaned out to Bundesliga side Schalke in January, but he only made six appearances in total.
Pjaca is a versatile attacker who is capable of operating on either flank, and is technically strong, direct and fast. These attributes make him very effective in one-on-one situations, which would be hugely beneficial to Everton.
Last term the Toffees were slow and lethargic in their play, and seldom did they have anyone willing to get at defenders and leave them for dead.
The club are said to be eyeing a move for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha, as reported by the Daily Mail, but the huge £70 million asking price means Everton should definitely be looking elsewhere.
Juventus want to offload Pjaca and Liverpool do not seem interested. Marcel Brands and Marco Silva want to bring in younger players and the Croatian World Cup finalist could be much better value than Zaha for an Everton side expecting big things next season.
