Signing the Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder would not be the best option for Everton.

This could be a very busy transfer window for Everton and one player who has been linked with a move to Goodison Park is Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Omar Mascarell.
The 24-year-old, who was previously at Real Madrid, is the subject of interest from Everton, as reported by Marca.
Having missed several months through injury following a serious Achilles injury, Mascarell made his return to action last weekend as he completed the full 90 minutes in the 1-1 Bundesliga draw with Freiburg.

There appears to be a good chance of Everton being able to sign Mascarell this month if they were to make a suitable offer, but given that he is only just back from injury, he perhaps isn’t the best option to pursue.
In addition, Mascarell has done little to suggest that he would be able to improve Everton’s midfield. He found it difficult to make a major impact during a loan spell at Derby County three seasons ago and the step up to the Premier League would be a significant one.

Everton require players who are capable of making an instant impact in the top flight and Mascarell doesn’t appear to fit into that category.
When looking to improve their midfield, Everton should aim higher than Mascarell, whose injury problems and lack of consistency are major concerns.
