Everton midfielder Muhamed Besic is out on loan at Middlesbrough.
Everton picked up a morale-boosting 2-0 home win on Saturday afternoon, with a Gaetan Bong own goal and a Cenk Tosun finish handing Sam Allardyce all three points.
In a positive weekend for the Toffees, one loan player also enjoyed a win, as Muhamed Besic tasted victory with Middlesbrough yet again.
The Bosnian midfielder was sent out on loan in January having found himself down the pecking order at Goodison Park, and Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Barnsley was a third win in a row for Tony Pulis’ men.
Besic is now playing a key role in Middlesbrough’s push for the play-offs, as they now occupy the final spot in the top six, and could be in contention for a return to the top flight.
Besic, 25, has been superb for Boro in recent weeks, earning huge praise from fans, and Everton supporters have offered their view on the defensive midfielder too.
A 2014 signing from Hungarian side Ferencvaros having impressed for Bosnia and Herzegovina at the World Cup in Brazil, Besic has made just 56 appearances for Everton, struggling to nail down a first-team place.
Today, Everton’s official Twitter account posted a round-up of how their loan players are faring, focusing on Besic – and that prompted a host of responses from Everton fans.
Fans appear to be split on Besic, with some urging the club to sell him this summer for a fee of around £10million, believing he has found his level in the Championship rather than the Premier League.
However, others think that Besic is impressing because he is finally being given regular playing time with Boro, and Everton should give him a chance – possibly at the expense of Morgan Schneiderlin in the Everton midfield.
