Everton are one of two Premier League clubs with scouts stationed at the under-17 World Cup in India.

England's Jadon Sancho runs with the ball during the group stage football match between England and Chile in the FIFA U-17 World Cup at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on October 8, 2017.

According to the New Indian Express Everton are one of two Premier League clubs to have sent scouts to the under-17 World Cup, and they will surely have been impressed by England talent Jadon Sancho.

Sancho has been one of the Three Lions’ stars in the competition to date, scoring three goals and claiming two assists in his opening three appearances.

But Everton’s chance of landing the youngster may have passed, as they didn’t push for him in the summer.

Manchester City offloaded Sancho during the previous transfer window, but it was Borussia Dortmund who managed to land the forward.

And Everton may regret not pushing harder for Sancho while they had the chance, if he continues to impress at the international tournament.

Of course, Everton would have faced a challenge to beat Dortmund to the youngster’s signature, but Ronald Koeman’s side proved their pulling power with the additions they made over the summer transfer window.

And with Sancho looking highly impressive, Everton’s scouts may feel they should have recommended the attacker to Koeman earlier.
