Could Everton make their summer transfer window even better with the capture of the Arsenal man?
Everton scout Carlo Jacomuzzi has been speaking to Italian radio station Radio Crc, suggesting the Toffees are no longer interested in Duvan Zapata and are instead going all out for Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud.
Everton officials were in Italy last month to conduct a number of meetings regarding potential captures but so far, despite being very busy, none of Ronald Koeman’s new acquisitions have come from Serie A.

Now Jacomuzzi claims Everton have opted against a move for the Napoli forward, with the French international representing better value for money.
When asked about interest in Zapata, he told Radio Crc, “Not anymore. We are going to sign Giroud for £20millon; a bargain compared to the 25million euros being asked for Zapata.”
Everton have already signed Sandro Ramirez, Henry Onyekuru, Davy Klaassen, Michael Keane and Jordan Pickford this summer, and it seems they are not done there.
At this rate, they will be many fans’ dark horses for a top-four finish and the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool should be watching warily as Everton gear up for the new campaign.
It remains to be seen if the Gunners will sanction move, but Everton will be hoping his desire to start week in, week out could sway the balance.
