Arsenal legend Thierry Henry will join Roberto Martinez at Everton if the Toffees are successful in their quest to bring back the 48-year-old, according to The Mirror.

The Mirror have reported that Everton are keen on re-hiring Martinez as the new first-team manager.

The Premier League club are in talks with the Belgium FA and are hoping to get a deal sorted soon so that Martinez is in charge of the team before the match against Aston Villa this coming weekend.

The report has added that Arsenal legend Henry will also join Martinez at Goodisn Park, if talks go well.

The 44-year-old former Arsenal and France international striker is now the assistant manager at Belgium.

Thierry Henry arrival would excite Everton winger Alex Iwobi

In our view, Everton winger Alex Iwobi would love it if Henry becomes the assistant manager to Martinez at the Toffees.

The 25-year-old winger told The London Evening Standard in October 2017 that Henry was still giving him advice on his game.

Henry worked for a while in the Arsenal academy.

Iwobi was quoted as saying at the time that Henry is his idol and was “still advising” him.

Iwobi has not had the best of times at Everton so far, but he is still only 25.

So, in our opinion, there is still enough time for the Nigeria international winger to raise his game and add facets to it.

Henry knows Iwobi well, and perhaps working with the Frenchman on a regular basis would help the former Arsenal player grow and develop as a footballer.
