Everton came from behind to beat Arsenal 2-1 on Monday night – and Richarlison will be delighted that he scored a goal that actually counted.

Arsenal went ahead in the first half through Martin Odegaard, but Everton rallied.

Richarlison headed in a leveller before Demarai Gray smashed in a dramatic winner to turn the game on its head.

This was threatening to be a frustrating night for Richarlison, who must have felt the world was against him.

In the first half, Richarlison headed home an Andros Townsend free kick. Unfortunately for him, VAR ruled him to be narrowly offside.

After the break, Richarlison had the ball in the net again. This time, he fired home from an Abdoulaye Doucoure pass.

Richarlison was ruled offside once again, this time with an even smaller margin.

When Richarlison finally scored at the third attempt, you could sense the relief from the Brazilian – and Everton fans at Goodison Park.

Richarlison reacts to scoring for Everton against Arsenal

After the final whistle, Richarlison took to Twitter to celebrate Everton’s win over Arsenal.

Richarlison only needed two words, posting ‘hat trick’ having found the net three times.

Richarlison got his goal in the end, and at least he can laugh now.

Imagine his mood if Everton had lost after those disallowed goals? It doesn’t bear thinking about!
