Ronald Koeman reportedly wants to reunite with Fraser Forster at Everton.
Southampton’s Fraser Forster looks dejected
According to The Sun, Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster is Everton’s top goalkeeping target this summer as Ronald Koeman considers his options.
The Toffees swooped to land a goalkeeper last summer, as Maarten Stekelenburg arrived at Goodison Park to replace long-serving Tim Howard, having worked with Koeman at both Ajax and Southampton.
Stekelenburg started the season as Everton’s first-choice goalkeeper, but has since lost his spot to Joel Robles, with Koeman widely expected to make a move for a long-term shot stopper at the end of the season.
Now, The Sun claim that Everton’s top target for the position is Southampton’s Fraser Forster, who Koeman signed for the Saints back in the summer of 2014.
Former Newcastle youngster Forster, who turns 29 next month, starred with Celtic before heading back to England in 2014, and has racked up more than 70 Premier League appearances for the Saints.
A giant, imposing figure between the sticks, 6ft 7in Forster has been one of the Premier League’s top goalkeepers in recent years, making himself a fixture of the England squads since 2013.

Forster would fit the bill for Everton as they look for a reliable goalkeeper to take the gloves on a regular basis, but his contract situation on the South Coast may mean that Everton have to dig deep to reunite him with Koeman.
The goalkeeper signed a new five-year contract in May 2016, meaning Southampton would be under little pressure to sell, with his deal only expiring in 2021 – and the Saints may also be reluctant to sell to Koeman, who left the club for Everton last summer.
