Everton could offer Diego Godin an escape route out of Inter Milan this summer, according to reports from Inter Live.
Try as they might, the Toffees appear to be hitting brick walls left, right and centre with their pursuit of another centre-back proving to be far more difficult than anyone might have expected.

Fortunately, Inter Milan are at least willing to listen to offers for a 34-year-old who has won pretty much everything the game has to offer. In fact, they are nothing short of desperate to find a club willing to take Godin, and his £100,000-a-week wages, off their hands.
The Atletico Madrid legend has not lived up to such lofty expectations at the San Siro, struggling to adapt to Antonio Conte’s famed three-man backline. Maybe you cannot teach an old dog new tricks, after all.
Everton, however, would not expect Godin to embrace a whole new tactical approach in the latter days of his career. Carlo Ancelotti’s prefers a classic flat-back four and that should suit the Uruguayan international, a La Liga and two-time Europa League winner, down to the ground.
A truly world-class centre-half, arguably one of the best of the 21st century, the Mirror (15 April, page 49) recently suggested that Godin could be snapped up for as little as £7 million. And imagine the impact he could have on and off the pitch at an Everton side full of talented youngsters but lacking in battle-scarred leaders.
