Everton are reportedly keen on Inter’s Joao Mario.
According to a report from Gazzetta Dello Sport, Everton are interested in snapping up Inter Milan midfielder Joao Mario this summer – and he is no stranger to Marco Silva.
The Toffees have yet to make a new signing this summer, but business is expected to pick up soon – and a new midfielder appears to be on the wish list.
Gazzeta Dello Sport claim that Everton are just one of the Premier League clubs keen on Inter Milan ace Joao Mario, with the Italian club attempting to offload fringe players to raise funds for new signings.
Mario, who spent the second half of last season on loan with West Ham, may be in line for a Premier League return this summer, and a reunion with Toffees boss Marco Silva.
Mario and Silva worked together for one season at Portuguese club Sporting, and the midfielder thrived under his tutelage with seven goals and five assists, whilst he racked up 45 appearances as a key part of Silva’s team.
The midfielder may find a reunion appealing this summer, especially as the duo appeared to be onto a good thing at Sporting before Silva was unceremoniously sacked in the summer of 2015.
Reuniting may give them a chance to rekindle that partnership and bolster Everton’s options, after Mario featured for Portugal at this summer’s World Cup in Russia.
