Everton reportedly want ‘extremely talented’ youngster, talks to accelerate soon

Everton are interested in signing Diogo Dalot from Manchester United in the summer transfer window, according to Foot Mercato.

It has been reported that the Toffees want to sign Dalot on loan from Premier League rivals United, and that talks between the two clubs are expected to accelerate in the coming days.

The report in the French news outlet has added of Everton’s interest in Lyon right-back Kenny Tete as well.

Dalot – described as “an extremely talented young defender” by current Tottenham Hotspur head coach Jose Mourinho when he was in charge of United in June 2018 on the club’s official website – has been on the books of the Red Devils since the summer of 2018.

According to WhoScored, the 21-year-old full-back has made one start and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Red Devils this season, and also played thrice in the Europa League.

During the 2018-19 campaign, the youngster made 12 starts and four substitute appearances in the league for United, providing two assists in the process, according to WhoScored.

The Portugal Under-21 international right-back also made two starts and two substitute appearances in the Champions League for the Red Devils last season, according to WhoScored.
