Everton are reportedly after Newcastle United’s Jamaal Lascelles in the summer transfer window, having also claimed to want him back in 2010 when he was at Nottingham Forest.

Everton are interested in signing Jamaal Lascelles from Premier League rivals Newcastle United in the summer transfer window, according to The Mirror.

It has been reported that Everton are lining up a £25 million move for the 24-year-old defender this season.

The report has also claimed that Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have watched the former Nottingham Forest defender in acton this season.

Good signing for Everton?

Lascelles is a superb defender and has been one of the best players for Newcastle this season.

The former England Under-21 international has been key in the Rafael Benitez’s side retaining their Premier League status for the 2018-19 campaign.

The 24-year-old has progressed steadily in his career, and he has proved himself in the Premier League and would be a good signing for Everton.

Previous interest

This is not the first time that Everton have been linked with Lascelles. According to BBC Sport, the Toffees wanted to sign the defender back in 2010 when he was under a scholarship agreement at Forest.

BBC Sport further reported that Everton were fined £45,000 in January 2014 for for an unauthorised approach for Lascelles in 2010.
